So i was thinking today about how my boyfriend and i got together and i remember it was because of his relentless nature and how cute that actually is. So heres the story....
About 4 years ago I was dating another guy somewhere around my 2nd year in college, Anthony, who I had known for years asked me out on a date to which i replied "sorry, I have a boyfriend" and he said " Ok, well promise me that if you and he ever brake up you'll go on a date with me." I said yes hoping after that he would leave me alone. He did. about a year later the guy I had been dating and I broke up. Within a few weeks Anthony contacted me and reminded me of the promise I had made the year before. I didn't say no but I sure didn't make it easy.... While I was trying to decide if I wanted to keep my promise I was talking to a good friend of mine, miss Ally Jane. She gave me the best dating advice I have ever gotten from anyone, and its so basic but she told me
"Never turn down a date. You never know what can happen. Either you will have a terrible date, and a great story to tell, a free meal, or you may meet the love of your life"
Agreeing with her, but not thinking much about it i went back to my dorm room and sent Anthony a txt saying I would go out with him.
Thanks to my new found days off, the next few posts will probably be food related. Also, im thinking about making a recipe tab on my blog... thoughts? anyway, today i decided to make stuffed mushrooms. My plan was to have them all ready for my lovely boyfriend when he got home from work. However that didn't work out so well. He walked in as i was just starting... but thank God he did. He saw the recipe i was following and he almost died so he helped me make them the best way he knew how, the Italian way. So anyway here it goes...
Ingredients:
1 pack of baby portobello mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic
1 yellow onion
2 tbs butter
1/2-1 cup bread crumbs
salt
pepper
oliv oil
vegetable oil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
1. First Take your mushrooms and pick out the stems. Be sure to get all the stem down in the mushroom to allow for more room inside for stuffing and also more stuffing itself!
Last year I was at a friends house after a fantastic tubing trip and i found these half walnut shells in his front lawn. Immediately i thought they looked like little owl faces so i had this idea for the last year and i finally just had time to actually do it! I finally painted little faces on them and attached them to a chain. Heres how they came out!
Something thats become pretty popular this year is Chalkboard Paint! Its a genius idea for families with children to avoid paint, markers, crayons and other things on the wall. Now kids can draw all over the walls and its no big deal.
We got a new puppy this week! Well not really a puppy, she's 8. She is a Norwegian Elkhound. We saw her in an add in a paper, 'free to good home' so we went over to her house and instantly she fell in love with Anthony. She climbed right into his lap and did not move until we took her to her new home with us.
This is Jasmine!
